The Internal Audit Depatment will initiate an investigation when notified through university channels or by EthicsPoint. Individuals are encouraged to provide as much specific information as possible, including names, dates, places and events that took place along with the individual’s reason as to why the incident raises a concern.
All reports will be promptly investigated and the results communicated to management for possible corrective action. Due to the confidential nature of most investigations, internal audit cannot inform the reporter of the results.
The Internal Audit Department can investigate concerns relating to:
- Compliance policies, laws and regulations
- Accomplishment of objectives
- Reliability and integrity of financial information
- Efficiency and effectiveness of operations
- Safeguarding of assets
