Our department is home to experienced professionals from various backgrounds who are passionate about mentoring interns and sharing their expertise. This allows students to develop a well-rounded understanding of internal audit processes, risk management, compliance, and control frameworks.
- Interns engage in critical auditing tasks, including compliance reviews and control evaluations, while building key skills such as, attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork. In collaboration with KPMG, interns also benefit from exposure to external audit, enhancing their understanding of both internal and external auditing environments. This partnership with a Big 4 accounting firm enriches the learning experience and equips interns with knowledge that will support their future careers.
- Interns also gain practical insights into Rutgers’ operational processes and observe the audit cycle, from initial risk assessments to the final recommendations.
